He began his artistic journey in theatre, training at East 15 Drama School and appearing in a range of TV, short films and international campaigns before founding his production company, Nihilist Pictures. His directorial debut, the psychological thriller A Day Like Tonight, co-directed by Patricia Allison, reflects his growing focus on original storytelling that interrogates our digital, disconnected age.
Alongside his work in film, Walsch developed a distinct voice as a street artist under the name Nihilist, creating raw, hand-cut stencil pieces using only salvaged materials. His art confronts themes like climate collapse, mass surveillance, and systemic decay, blending visual protest with sustainable practice.
Operating at the intersection of performance, visual art, and political critique, Philipp Walsch creates bold, unflinching work that challenges apathy and complacency. Whether through film, street art, or wearable design, his message remains urgent: resist, rethink, and reimagine the world around you.
